storytelling: Being a brand and communications strategist I HELP brands, products and innOVatiVe IDeAS come to life via meaningful and purpose-driven storytelling. stories are powerful tools, because a story well told is able to establish an instant emotional connection with people and sticks to THEIR heads FAR LONGEr. FOR STORIES TO THRIVE YOU FIRST NEED TO DEVELOP a strong fundament, giving the story substance and meaning. For me this means stripping something down to its very essence, to its fundamental core, and then build upon that. This can easily be translated into other fields such as photography and art. 

travelling: my mind is constantly wandering to new places. my passion lies in travelling and immersing into new cultures, ways of living and views on this world. being blessed with a curious, adventurous mindset, I am always open for new challenges, leading me to the most unusual places, where I try to find some hidden gems by looking beyond the very obvious. Sometimes in the company of others, sometimes in the company of my sole self.

nature:  i generally love vibrant cities with their ever-evolving cultural and commercial landscapes, multi-ethnicity and inspirational atmosphere. i see advantages to the fast pace we live and work in, the progress, opportunities and efficiencies it brings along. but i also see the problems it causes, the overwhelming and stressful face it can put on at times. therefore i escape the city as often as possible in order to seek full refuge in nature, recharging my batteries whenever needed. this longing for calmness, quietude and slowing down is also reflected within my work, showing clear lines, minimal patterns and muted colors. 

sustainability: growing up in the countryside surrounded by nature and wildlife i developed a strong closeness towards my environment. ever since i got confronted with the attitude of the modern consumer and city-dweller who often makes decisions not based on what is good for himself and the environment but based on what makes his life more efficient, convenient and distinguished, i am trying to figure out ways to bring back a more sustainable and conscious lifestyle. in today's world it is hardly possible to achieve a zero-impact lifestyle, but what matters is being conscious and reflective about your consumption behaviour and trying to act in the interest of the broader you, the environment, as much as possible.
