LA | GARÚA (120x180 Ltd. Edition).

Lima. Peru. September 2013.

In the winter time, Lima can exude a ghostly atmosphere. It is veiled in what the locals call ‘la garúa’ or the winter fog. Not actually being a fog, it rather is a heavy sea mist caused by warm winds interacting with the cool water of the Pacific Ocean that covers the whole city and coastline in form of a light drizzle. The phenomenon extends along the Peruvian coast from June through November. It has often been associated with melancholy and sadness. I however view this time as a time for coming to rest, recharging your batteries and reflecting on the bustling summer season.

I have chosen not to frame this picture in order to let the scenery fully unfold its soothing character and smoothly blend into its surroundings. The picture is printed on high-quality fine art paper (KOH-I-NOOR, 300g/m2) and mounted on a 3mm aluminium dibond backing. It is matt sealed and supplied with a bordering aluminium rail, making it ready to hang straightaway.

This edition IS COMPRISED OF a limited number of 5 pieces, each one being numbered, SIGNED and accompanied by a little storybook.
