SNOW | STRIAE (100x150 / 70x105 Ltd. Editions).

ROSHKA. Georgia. October 2017.

… waking up. looking out of the window. white. white everywhere.

overnight the surrounding mountain range has unexpectedly and silently been snowed in, revealing a completely different picture the next day. from autumn’s green, yellow and brown shades to a gleaming white. every slope, every ridge, every rock, every furrow was smoothly covered in a blanket of snow. life was suddenly muted, decelerated. a calming quietude set in. but mountains stay strong and proudly stand even the harshest conditions, every year anew. resembling human veins, their many striae and furrows allude to their continuous and untiring life force. being completely cut off from the rest of the country in the high caucasus mountains also meant staying longer. a break much needed and very much appreciated.
